Text: Died unmarried. She lived openly and happily with her partn er, Dorothy FITCH who died approximately 1985. Dorothy JACK SON was well known andwell liked in the community. When sh e died, the Catholic members ofthe community who accompanie d bore her hearse, carried her to thedoorway of the Churc h of Ireland but for reasons of the divide offaith, stoppe d there. She is buried in the Protestant graveyard.SOURCE: A pril 2005 conversation with Thomas St. Felix JACKSON. One o ther note, I can't figure - 50 pounds age 19?

2006 conversation with Julian CURRIE: She was the first lad y to have adrivers licence in UK. Phyllis Keyes, a well kno wn potter. was alsoone of her girl friends. She was the dau ghter of Sir Roger Keys, an admiral. Her brother Geoffrey g ot a VC for trying to kill Rommell in Northern Africa. [NOT E: I suspect she was the sister of Sir Roger].Other source s show that she was a potter and portrait artist and that s he founded Tingewick Pottery and was a member of the Blooms buryGroup.

Dorothy FITCH inherited from Dorothy JACKSON and at her dea th,distributed money back to the nieces and nephews of Doro thy JACKSON.

I don't know what took her to Glengarriff. I note in LewisT opigraphical Dictionary that a W.H. JACKSON had a residenc e at Castleview, Little Island. Who was he?

In a letter from her grandmother to her father dated Aug 18 , 1896:"Dorothy is all alive; I believe she does no know wh at fear is."
