    "Edward T. Franklin and Charlotte Dean were my 2nd-Great-Grandparents. Edward T. Franklin was b. 11 Oct 1780, place unknown, d. 20 Sep 1846 Gallatin Co., KY. Charlotte Dean was b. 28 JUL 1793 In Maryland; d 12 Nov 1846 in Gallatin Co., KY. Both died in a Cholera Epidemic in Gallatin Co., KY where they spent all of their married life on Sugar Creek.

    They had two children - 1. William Thomas Franklin and 2. Mary Messic Franklin.

    1. William Thomas Franklin, b 02 May 1819; d. 06 Jan 1901 in Indianapolis, Marion Co., Indiana; m/1 Sarah Benham 23 Dec 1840 in Mason Co., KY (License obtained in Gallatin Co.) Sarah was b. 20 Feb 1816 in KY; d 10 Aug 1852 in Kenton Co., KY - they had 4 children. Wm T, Franklin m/2 Margaret Ramey on 11 Apr 1853 in Warsaw, Gallatin Co., KY - no children. William and Margaret moved to Indianapolis, Indiana in late 1860s and both are buried at Crown Hill Cemetery there.

    2. Mary Messic Franklin (my great-Grandmother) was b. 24 Jan 1830 Gallatin Co., KY; d 22 Aug 1866 in Kenton Co., KY. She m Elisha Hudson Bird 26 Mar 1851 in Kenton Co., Ky. They had 9 children, (All of above records were recorded in Mary and Elisha's Family Bible). William T. Franklin and Elisha Hudson Bird worked for a construction company that erected many of the oldest buildings in Covington, KY."
