Bill Hanson brother of Archie Hanson went to Lovers Castle, a local Bar (owner - Mrs Cup ) on Christmas Eve 1938. He had step son Calvin Hinagar with him and a friend Lloyd Arrington. He knew Eliza Large who happened to be at the bar that night.

Bill asked Eliza to go outside to talk. He told her he was broke and needed her to lend him some money. She said that that she didn't have any because she had given the last bit to Mrs Cup. Bill was enraged that she refused to give him any money and hit her in the head with hammer he had in the back of the truck. He then loaded her body in the truck, and threw the body out just down the muddy lane in a mud puddle and then ran over the body with the truck. He then called the police and reported that he had accidently ran over her in the dark. The police ruled it an accident. Calvin Hinagar revealed the truth about what really happened to Mrs. Mary Large Laird in the 1970's. Bill, who Calvin feared, was already dead.

Lloyd Arrington had stopped to fix a flat tire for someone on the Hwy and was standing behind the car. Bill Hanson happened by and drove his car into him, crushing him to death. The Police ruled it an accident.

Bill Hanson had married a shy young girl and had a baby with her. Bill was a flambouant womanizer. The young wife was very unhappy in this marriage. She supposedly took Bill's shotgun out to the back of barn, climb over a fence, put the shotgun to her stomach and pulled trigger with her toe. The Police ruled it a suicide.

Bill Hanson had a job on an Ice route. Jim Hill was the helper on this route. Supposedly Jim went to sleep in the Ice truck driven by Bill and fell out and was run over by the truck's rear wheels. The Police ruled it an accident.

The Rhoton Funeral Home in Carrollton, Texas hadled Eliza Large's funeral services.
