    OCONOSTOTA [Groundhog Sausage], Principal Chief 1778/1780, War Chief of the Cherokee Indians, commissioned as Captain in the French Army at New Orleans on 27th February 1761, became a member of St. Andrew's Society at Charleston on 30th November 1773, one of the signers of Henderson's Treaty in March 1775, married 1stly, Woman of Ani'-Wa'Ya, married 2ndly, Quatsis Ani'-W'di, and had issue. He died March 1783.
