In the name of God Amen, I Nathaniel Ayres of the County of Halfax, and Colony of Virginia, do make and appoint this my last will and testament, prohibiting all other wills and testaments, before the date hereof, and I do recommend my soul to God, who gave it and my body to the dust to be buried in decent Christian order, and for my worldly estate to the following manner at my decease. **Note of caution to reader: Over the years the various lines of men named Nathaniel AYERS have become almost hopelessly entangled. There is data saying that the children of Nathaniel in NJ are the same children of Nathaniel in VA and vice-versa. The Nathaniel AYERS who was in VA is the "southern" line whose descendants went to NC, SC and on to Franklin and Habersham Co., GA.
** Another note: It is proven that the info of NJ Ayers is in error and all of the Southern Ayers were from VA but some folks still won't make the changes to reflect the proven info. DSPayne
