    Anthony Jackson and his brothers moved from Lancashire, England, to Ireland in 1649. They settled first at Lurgan, where the Society of Friends was first established, and were among the first converts. Richard and Anthony, along with others, then moved to County Cavan in 1655 and established a Friends Meeting there. In 1670, and as late as 1681, he is mentioned in Besse's Sufferings of the People called Quakers as having suffered persecution and imprisonment for for non-payment of tithes.
