    "C. T. King, Elizabeth King and D. W. Barr have this day bargained and sold and do hereby transfer and convey to Alex. Beckum and his heirs forever for the consideration of one hundred and twenty eight dollars and 34 cents to us paid, a tract of land in the state of Tennessee, Lewis County, District N 11 containing by estimation one hundred and eighteen acres and 26 2/3 poles it being two third of one hundred and seventy seven acres (40/60) tract granted to Wm. H. Barr bearing date 28th day of May 1847 lying in said county in Range 3 and section 3 on the waters of Big Bigby Creek and bounded as follows. To wit, beginning south and west of the Congressional Reservation line at a stake in the S B of Jane Robertson occupant survey No 272 J. J. Shar.... NW corner and runs south one hundred poles to the corner of Smith & P...vey, thence west with his line 88 poles to his corner, thence south with his line 131 poles to Johnathan Jones corner, thence west with his line 102 poles to a small hickory stump, his corner in Ezra Durham's line, thence north with Durham's line his corner at 171 poles in all 231 poles to a chestnut, thence east 77 poles to the corner of a 25 acre grant in the name of Ezra Durham, thence south with his line 80 poles to his corner, thence east with his line 50 poles to his corner, thence north with his line 80 poles to a large beech his corner, thence east 63 poles to the beginning. To have and to hold the same to the said Alex Beckum, his heirs and assigns forever and so covenant with said Beckum that we are lawfully seized of said land, have a good right to convey it and that the same is unencumbered. We do further covenant and bind ourselves, our heirs and representatives to warrant and forever defend the title to the said land and every part thereof to the said Beckum, his heirs and assigns of all persons against the lawful claim whatever given
