        Roy Upton obit
        Roy N. Upton, 68, of Dunbar RD1, died Saturday, Jan. 11, 1992, in Mercy Hospital, Pittsburgh. He was born Sept. 10, 1923, in Connellsville, son of the late Harvey M. and Mary Clark Upton. Before retirement, he was employed as a custodian by the Connellsville Area School District. He was preceded in death by his wife, Jean Marcella Upton; three sisters, Betty, Emma Jean, and Sharon Upton; and a brother, Harvey Upton. He is survived by four sons, Roy L. and Ronald ``Pete,'' both of Dunbar RD1, William H. of Fairchance, and Larry Upton of Dawson; five daughters, Mrs. Robert (Mary Jane) Smitley of Dunbar RD1, Mrs. Ralph (Beverly) Hibbard of Leisenring, Mrs. Steven (Wanda) Bigam of Connellsville, and Barbara and Stacie Upton, both at home; six brothers, Walter and Leonard, both of Dunbar, Warren of Scottdale, George and Ivan, both in Michigan, and Harvey Upton Jr. of Hopwood; two sisters, Mrs. Thomas (Dolores) Mazurik of Little Summit and Mrs. Edward (Beatrice) Guynn of Vanderbilt; 11 grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.
        Services will be held Tuesday, Jan. 14, 1992, in Connellsville.
