Marie Louise was widowed at an early age and went to work as a telegraph operator to support her two daughters. She was quite intelligent and became the head of the telegraph station in the town of Arvika. Later she became interested in politics and became an alderman in the town of Arvika. She is known as the first female alderwoman in Sweden. Knut and Sanna Schroder were from Arvika and they remember her well.
