Benoit, 68, of 808 Fon Clair Street, died at 1:10 yesterday afternoon at his home. He had been ill for the past nine and one-half months. He was born Nov 27, 1894 at Millau, France, son of Neuima and Marie Segui Benoit. In 1903 he emigrated to Montreal, Can., where he resided two years. He then moved to Johnstown, where he had resided since that time. He worked for a number of years as a table cutter. He retired in 1962 after working for 17 years as a deerskin grader. His last place of employment was Menkes Fur Inc., Gloversville. The survivors, in addition to his wife, Mrs. Eleanor F. Benoit, are two sisters, Mrs. Jacob W.     • Note: [The marriage of Miss Eleanor D. Fonda, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Joseph C. Fonda, 13 West Decker street, to George H. Benoit, son of Numa Benoit, 102 Meadow street was solemnized at 5 yesterday atternoon at a pretty fall wedding held at the home of the bride's par- ents. Rev. William S. V. Robinson, of Newark, N. J., former pastor of the First Baptist church of this city, made a special trip to Johnstown for the purpose of performing the ceremony. For Mr. and Mrs. Fonda the day marked the thirty-fourth anniversary of their wedding. (..) The newlyweds left later in the evening for a two-weeks' wedding trip to New York, Buffalo and other points of interest in the state. They will reside in a newly-furnished home at 36 South Melcher street upon their return. Mrs. Benoit is a registered nurse, a graduate from the Albany City hospital training school for nurses and also took a special course in nursing at the Woman's hospital of New York city. Mr. Benoit is well known and popular among the young residents of the city and the many friends of both parties will united in extending congratulations.
