"Moved from Chester Co., PA to Frederick Co., VA in 1748 and then about
1768 to Bush River, SC. On February 21, 1772 he bought 250 acres of land
in Craven Co., SC. His will is dated April 9, 1793 and probated October
20, 1794 in Newberry Co., 96th District, SC. He bequeathed his
plantation of 143 acres to son Thomas Pugh; 143 acres of land to son
Azariah Pugh hwere he lived; with the rest of the estate divided equally
among his other children. Peter Julian's childred divided one share
between them. Sons Ellis and Jesse were appointed executors."
One source has Hahhan Bales mother as Elizabeth Hollingsworth, another
sources Rebecca Tansey Bales, and another as Rebecca (Chapman) Bailes.
