The date of death of Robert Yancey should be considered purely speculative. The last known document executed by him was his appointment of Josiah Evans as his attorney "... to attend the Paymaster who may be appinted to pay off the Troops Commanded by General Hopkins for services rendered in the year [1812] ...", and so on. I am aware of no later document bearing the name or signature of Robert Yancey. The fact that his wife, Jane (Coulter) Yancey, was listed as a Head of Household in the Census of 1820 does not prove his death. Source: Pulaski County _____ Book __, p. 129.
