He was born 27 JUL 1906 in Stokes County, North Carolina, and died 08 JUL 1986 in Virginia. He was buried in Yanceyville United Methodist Church (Yanceyville, Caswell County, North Carolina).
	Children of Frances Louise Brooks and Rufus Virgil Nelson are:   2   i. Rufus Brooks Nelson was born 25 MAR 1940, and died 15 JUL 1940.   3   ii. Patricia Ann Nelson was born 05 APR 1942, and died 22 APR 1968. She married Living Davis.   4   iii. Roger David Nelson was born 03 AUG 1946 in Mebane, Alamance County, North Carolina, and died 26 MAR 2009 in Roxboro, Person County, North Carolina. He married Living Webster, daughter of Hulon Carlton Webster and Living Bradner.
