2.	John M. LAYTON (John LAYTON1) was born 1849, and died 1892. He married Candace Jane HOFFMAN, daughter of Daniel HOFFMAN and Margaret LAYTON. She was born 1843, and died 1912.
	Children of John M. LAYTON and Candace Jane HOFFMAN are:   5   i. Jessie LAYTON was born 1882, and died 1955. She married David Huston VAN DYKE. He was born 1882.   6   ii. D. Wade LAYTON was born 1884, and died 1941. He married Retta PHIPPS.
