Note: Joachim Bühler was born in the family home in Gamshurst, Baden, Germany on March 10, 1821 about 2 o'clock in the morning and was baptized later that evening at 3 o'clock. This information came to us from Karlsruhe Archive in Germany. Joachim married Agnes Lehmann on Oct 18, 1848 per E-mail from Tim Allgeyer, Cincinnati, Ohio. Tim has done considerable research on the Bühler family. Joachim, his wife, Agnes and their 4 children: Karl, Joseph, Katherina and Rosina left Gamshurst on August 9, 1854 bound for America. Their passage was paid by the community. They arrived in Canada in the fall of 1854 and lived in Canada for 11 years. They left there and arrived in Erin Twp, Macomb county, Michigan in 1866 where he farmed: per 1870 census. Joachim's occupations were: Farmer, laborer, teamster. The Beeler family left Macomb county about 1873/4 and moved to Port Huron, Mich. In 1877 the family lived in Port Huron, Michigan on the south side of Howard St between 8th and 9th streets per 1877 city directory. From 1883 to 1890 the family lived at 1218 Miller Street, Port Huron, per City directories. Between 1895 and 1900 he lived with his daughter Mary Spade at 209 13th Street, Port Huron. On September 30, 1900 Joachim died at his daughters home from congestion of the lung and was buried in the family plot in Ward "F" in Mt Hope Cemetery, Port Huron on October 1. He was known as Jacob Beeler. He was 79 yrs 6 mnths 20 days old at his death.
