This entry from North Carolina, Dobbs County, Misc. Land Records, 1765 - 1797 [LDS Film #0018802] documented that Ezekiel Daniel, Sr. was living in Dobbs County in 1778, and his property adjoined that of John Barnes, Jr.

  • Event: Land Owned Land 1790s to 1822 Washington County, Georgia
  • Note: Ezekiel Daniel, Sr., and his family settled in the lower section of Washington County, just north of what is now the line between Johnson and Washington Counties. One tract contained 2875 acres, lying on the Big Ohoopie River. Another tract containing 200 acres adjoined the above land, and a third tract containing 200 acres also bordered the waters of the Ohoopie River. Therefore, Ezekiel, Sr., owned a total of 3,275 acres in Washington County, Georgia at the time of his death in 1822. 7
  • Event: Grand Jury Court July Term, 1791 Washington County, Georgia
  • Note: Ezekiel, Sr., served on the Grand Jury for the July 1791 Term in Washington County, Georgia. Therefore, one might surmise that Ezekiel and his young family arrived in Washington County sometime in the middle to late 1880s, or no later than early in 1790, since it would be unlikely that a newcomer to the area would be chosen to serve on the Grand Jury. 8
