This entry from North Carolina, Dobbs County, Misc. Land Records, 1765 - 1797 [LDS Film #0018802] documented that Ezekiel Daniel, Sr. was living in Dobbs County in 1778, and his property adjoined that of John Barnes, Jr.

According to official records, Ezekiel, Sr., registered for the 1805 Georgia Land Lottery as a resident of Washington County, Georgia, and was listed as follows:

Daniel, Ezekiel, Sr. 1012 BB Washington

[He did not win any land]

"Land distributed in this lottery was the Districts 1 through 5 of Baldwin County; 1 through 3 of Wayne County; and one through five of Wilkinson County. When the drawer received land, the listing is "P"; when no land was received, the listing is "B" [for each draw to which the registrant was entitled]."

By 1820 only three of Ezekiel, Sr.'s children, or perhaps grandchildren, were still living in his household.

After the death of Ezekiel Daniel, Sr., the following legal notices appeared in the Georgia Journal, (Milledgeville, Georgia newspaper [excerpted from Genealogical Abstracts from the Georgia Journal (Milledgeville) Newspaper, 1809-1840 Volume One, 1809-1818:

Issue of July 16, 1822
Nine months after date, application will be made to the Inferior Court of Washington County...for leave to sell the real estate of EZEKIEL DANIEL, deceased. (Signed) EZEKIEL DANIEL, Extor.

Will be sold on Thursday the 5th of September next, at the late residence of EZEKIEL DANIEL, deceased, of Washington County, all the personal property belonging to said estate...(Signed)!EZEKIEL DANIEL, Ex'or.

Issue of May 13, 1823
Will be sold in Sandersville, Washington County, on the 1st Tuesday in August next...three tracts of land, being the real estate of EZEKIEL DANIEL, deceased, one tract containing 2875 acres, lying on the Big Ohoopie--one other tract containing 200, adjoining the above land--one other tract containing 200 lying on the waters of said Ohoopie...(Signed) EZEKIEL DANIEL, Ex'r.
