KINGSPORT - Lois Keene Deskins, 84, died Monday (Feb. 4, 2002) at Wexford House.
She was born in Mavisdale, Va., and lived in Richmond, Va., before moving to Kingsport a little over 20 years ago.
She was a member of Garden Creek United Methodist Church. She was preceded in death by her parents, Oscar Keene and Susanna Fletcher Keene; and five brothers. Surviving are two sisters, Faye Cure and husband, Ruben J., of Kingsport, and Grace Colley of Vansant, Va.; one brother, Ralph Keene and wife, Frieda, of Abingdon, Va.; and several nieces and nephews. Graveside services will be conducted at 1 p.m. Wednesday at Green Hill Memorial Gardens in Claypool Hill, Va., with Pastor Winston Sweeney officiating. Those wishing to attend the service should meet at the cemetery by 1 p.m. The family will receive friends immediately after the service. Pallbearers will be friends. Carter-Trent Funeral Home, downtown Kingsport, is serving the family of Lois Deskins.
