Lucy Edna, daughter of George Washington and Sarah Frances Taylor Fee, was born in Piedmont, August 9, 1893, and departed this life at Sedan Hospital on Feb. 15, 1965 at age 71.
She was one of six children. They grew to man and womanhood in Piedmont and received their education in the school there. Edna was a popular clerk at Barrows General Store for a number of years.
She united in marriage with Vernon C. Adams, January 31, 1912. Two sons and five daughters were born to them. One son, Stanley was accidently killed at age 7.
Mr. and Mrs. Adams moved to an Elk County farm south west of Piedmont soon after their marriage and here the older children grew to man and womanhood. Mrs. Adams was a public spirited person who loved her family and neighbors. She took interest in education and for a number of years served as a member of the school board of Pearl School District. In the fall of 1934 the family moved to Howard. If there was a sickness, Mrs. Adams was the first to go see what was needed.
Survivors are her husband, five daughters, Helen Minkle, Louella Kennedy, both of Howard, Mrs. Frances Logsdon, Wichita, Georgia Ambler of Bremerton, Wa., Vera Conard, Severy; Elmer Glenn Adams of Ackland, New Zealand. She is also survived by two brothers, Gerald W. Fee, Portland, Oregon, Frank T. Fee, Hutchinson, KS. Three sisters Ruby Bland, Eureka; Thelma and Margaret Lilley, both of Piedmont. Burial was in Piedmont Cemetery.
