    1880 census, John and Mary Wheaton had two Hobarts living with them - John H. Hobart, 26, and Sarah J. Hobart, 19. They were living in Liberty, Sullivan Co., NY. John was grandson; Sarah was granddaughter-in-law - first wife of John.

    They were living next door to the Hyzer family (Mercy A. Hyzer was their daughter).

    It is clear from the 1900 and 1910 censuses that both John and Viola had previous marriages. Ernest and Lydia were John's children by his first wife, Sarah. Rosa was the child they had together.

    This family was in Liberty, Sullivan County, NY in 1900. John was farming. The census entry was "John H. Hobert."

    John and Viola were living in Liberty, Sullivan Co., NY in the 1920 census. Daughter Rosa, single, was living with them.
