    Amy came to West Tisbury with her parents when she was about eight years of age.

    Before her marriage Amy was privileged to sit under the preaching of the eminent John Mayhew, who ministered to the people of Tisbury and Chilmark from 1672 to 1688/89.

    After coming to Falmouth, for many years her nearest place of regular worship was the West Barnstable church, which she joined on 3 Aug 1701. On 10 Oct 1708 she and eighteen others were given permission to start a church in Falmouth.

    The first house of worship in Falmouth is thought to have been erected between 1690 and 1700.

    Amy died 24 Feb 1709/10, and was buried in the Old Burying Ground of Falmouth where he stone bears the following inscription: "Here lyes ye body of ye vertuous Mrs. Amy Hatch Wife of Mr. Joseph Hatch ye dau'r of James Allen Esq'r Died Febrey ye 24th 1709/10 in ye 47th year of her age.
