Frederick Wible, the progenitor of the Wibles, set sail at Rotterdam, Holland for America. He, with 165 other immigrants landed in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania on October 16, 1751. Some thought that because he set sail from Rotterdam, that he was a Dutchman, but it is possible that he was a German and came down the Valley of the Reine River to take the boat at Rotterdam. Soon after Frederick landed, he bought a fifty acre farm in Longswamp Township in northern Berks County, Pennsylvania. Some time after this it is learned that he lived in Antrim Township, Franklin County, Pennsylvania. Nothing is known about his wife but he had a son named Adam.

    Dorothy:
Can you clarify where (County and township) you found Frederick Wible in the 1790
    census?
Also you list he was found in both (??) Stonycreek Comerset and in Antrim Twp,
Franklin Co. with two totally different enumerations:
-1800 census for Antrim Township, Franklin County lists Frederick with 3 males over
sixteen, 1 under five and 1 female.

    -Frederic Weible Stonycreek, Somerset,PA 1800 10001-10011 [man over 45, wife over 45]
WHERE IS SON JOHN?? [your comment]
One of the above is apparently a mistake you reposted, but which one?
