I have seen somewhere that William Montgomery and Anna Creighton had a son John Montgomery born about 1809 in Ireland. I don't know where I read this, nor do I have any correspondence with this in it. It is interesting though to note that there is another Montgomery connected to William Montgomery. This is John Montgomery who lived in St Stephen but owned land in Saint Patrick. In fact, later William Montgomery owned the same land. He seems to have died about 1848. He was married to Maria Pratt in 1845. She married Washington Weatherbee in 1850.

Description: All that piece or parcel of land lying on the east side of the Digdeguash River, being a part of Lot B and C granted to me William Montgomery, commencing in the middle of said Digdeguash River at the said Styles Mill dam thence down the River five rods thence easterly to a poplar stake, twenty feet southeast of the end of the dam, thence north by a knotted fir tree to the flowage or pond under the said dam thence along the margin of said flowage or pond taken at the time of highest freshts to the northern boundary of said lot thence west to the middle of the Digdeguash River thence down the middle of Said River to the place of beginning.

Know all men by these presents that I Lachlan Cameron of Saint Andrews, County of Charlotte, and Province of New Brunswick, Merchant, for and in consideration of the sum of one hundred and five pounds, lawful money of the Province of New Brunswick to me paid by William Montgomery of the Parish of Saint Patrick's, County aforesaid, Blacksmith, the receipt whereof to hereby acknowledge have granted, bargained, and sold and by these presents to grant, bargain and sell unto the said William Montgomery, his heirs, and assigns, all that certain piece of land situate, lying and being in the Parish of Saint Patrick aforesaid in the County and Province aforesaid, known and distinguished as the northeast part of Lot Number One containing one hundred acres, more or less, bounded on the south by Harry Halok on the east by land owned by Matthew Lynch, on the north by land owned by Edward Fitzmaurice and ? by the Main Road leading from Whittier’s Ridge to the Rollingdam line, ? piece of land lately occupied by Thomas Thompson, said land deeded to me by on Benjamin Follet and references to this said deed duly registered with the Records of the said County in the 67th and 68th pages of Book Lettered F will more freely appear together with all the rights memory prior uses & appurtenances thereunto ? any wise appertaining. To Have and to Hold, the said land and premises with the appurtenances to the said William Montgomery, his heirs and assigns and to his and him only we ? behoof for him and I do for myself, my heirs, executors and administrators covenant with the said William Montgomery, his heirs & assigns that I am seized of the premises as a good indefeasible title of inheritance in fee simple, free of and from all manner of encumbrances whatsoever. And ? conditions, reservation and services there and restricted to His Queen only excepted. And that I have in good right, truly proven and lawfully authority to grant, bargain and sell the same in manner and form as above written. In Witness whereof I have hereunto set my hand and seal the fourth day of May in the year of our Lord one thousand eight hundred and forty and in the ninth year of Her Majesty’s Reign. The words Lachlan Cameron in this eighth line from the bottom on the first page having thence erased before signing, sealing.

Description: All that tract of land situate in the Parish of Saint Patrick, County of Charlotte, and Province of New Brunswick, and bounded as follows, to wit, beginning at the eastern bank or shore of Digdeguash River and in the south western angle of lot E granted to Richard McFarlan in William Makoods survey, on the Digdeguash River below the Rolling dam made in 1836, thence running by the magnet north sixty one degrees and fifteen minutes east eighty three chains of four poles each crossing in that distance the road leading to the Rolling Dam to a marked hemlock standing upon the western boundary line of a lot granted to Matthew Lynch, hence along said boundary line south twenty-eight degrees and forty five minutes east fourteen chains and fifty links to the northern boundary line of lot G Granted to William Montgomery, thence along said boundary line south forty one degrees and fifteen minutes, west ninety one chains, recrossing in that distance the road leading to the Rolling dam to the bank or shore of Digdeguash River aforesaid thence along the course up stream to the place of beginning, containing one hundred acres, more or less, distinguished as Lot D in the Survey.
