!NOTES: Tale by Mr. Gunter (age 84 on 30 Oct 1970) to Midred Dye. "Mr. Gunter grew up around Ironaton; he worked at the forge. When he was 5 or 7 years old his older brother burned his feet badley. He was taken to Granny Kennedy to get the "fire talked out of his feet"; she did it. Mr. G. said "She was an old old woman and I was afraid of her!" This was about 1882. . He identified her as the grandmother of Jack Kennedy. . Jack's family lived in the mountains back of Iranaton. Both Bill Dye and Mr. Gunter identified Jack as part of the George W. Kennedy family?????" (In a letter written by James H. Kennedy from Richmond, VA, during the Civil War, he mentions, "Tell Uncle Jack and Pap to answer my letter soon.")
