Note: Rebecca (Rea) Monroe left her farm to two daughters. Sarah (Monroe) Shield s, married to Robert Shields and Rebecca Anne (Monroe) Beckett, marri ed to Joseph Beckett. A portion of Sarah (Monroe) Shields was sold to the Harbison family, remai nder sold in the year 2000. Rebecca Anne (Monroe) Beckett's share still owned by descendants of Rebec ca Anne Monroe and husband, Joseph Beckett in 2009.
Buffalo United Presbyterian Church, Slate Lick, Armstrong Co., Pennsylvani a The first church was in log cabins of the settlers, and afterwards for a t ime in a large tent at the place where the church is in 2010. The first st ructure was a log church, built by Abram Smith and William Minteer in 181 5, thirty three feet square. The second church was built in 1844 by Robert M. Kiskaddon. A wooden fram e, thirty six by forty six feet, for $700. This church burned down in 1886 . The third church built on ground donated by James Rayburn, father of Matth ew and and James Rayburn. A frame building of thirty five and fifty five feet, for $2,000. This chur ch was built by E. A. Steele and L. H. Sample, dedicated by Rev. A. G. Wallace. One of the first services was the funeral of Rebecca Monroe in Janua ry of 1887. She was buried beside her husband John Monroe. Parents of M rs Thomas Long, (Nancy J. Monroe), Mrs Simon Iseman (Melinda Monroe), M rs Robert E. Shields, (Sarah Monroe), Joseph Bickett, (Rebecca Anne Monroe ). This church burned down, about midnight, February 24, 1918. The fourth church was built of red brick, by Edwin McIntyre, John McEwe n, Herman Baker, William C. Frantz, and R. R. Sloan, building cost, $7,00 0. Dedicated by Rev. A. P. Hutchison. Pastors: Rev.
