    !RELATIONSHIP: Civil War Pension File 79.845 includes the following sworn deposition - "I, Mehitable Tucker of Bridgewater in the county of Windsor and state of Vermont on oath state that I am the mother of Rufus B. Tucker who was a member of Co. D. 9th. VT. Vols.and was present at the births of two children whose names and ages are as follows.....and that the children names above written are recorded in the family bible in the handwriting of Rufus B. Tucker and the day and the month and the year of their births which is now in my possession." Dated 9 Mar 1866.

    POSSIBLE MARRIAGE: James Tucker of Canaan married Mehitable Keniston of Canaan 7 Feb 1805. From the Town Records of Canaan, NH.

    !COMMENT: Searched town records of Bridgewater, VT. Found several references to amounts paid for care of Mrs. Tucker away from the poor farm. At one point she is living with Ephraim Hubbard (Mar 1866). $5. paid for Mrs. Tucker's funeral expenses (Feb 1882). Srched Sept 1991. Auditors reports rather than actual town records. Do they still exist?
