Okay James Whitehead that you are talking about is my gr. grandfather. He was born Aug. 11,1838 Mosten, Lancashire, England and died on Dec. 1,1915 Springville, Utah, Utah. Okay now he is Mormon so he had more then one wife. On record you will find that James married Amelia Charlotte Brindle an Elizabeth Ashworth on Oct. 2,1871 at End House, Salt Lake City. Elizabeth Ashworth Born April 4,1839 Bury, Lancashire, England, Died Jun 9,1872 she is buried in the Salt Lake City Cemetery.
Family History tells that Eliza as she was called an James were sweethearts from their teens. Both joined the Church. James left for America with his family April 25,1855 on the ship William Stetson. Apparently Eliza and her mother Jane did not have the finances to come. James saved enough money to send for them. Upon their arrival in Utah James married his Eliza. A short time later, they were excited because a baby was on its way. Eliza some how slipped an fell into the water and drowed.
