Notes for Mary Frances Ousley:
Mary Royal died at the home of her daughter, Lena Wilson, in El Paso and was buried near her husband in New Cemetery, Beeville, Bee County, Texas. Ethel Royal died of pneumonia in Barstow, Ward County. He had served in the Confederacy during the Civil War and was wounded several times. The Royal family was living 1880 in Llano County, Texas where Ethel engaged in farming. In 1920, Mary Royal, now widowed (recorded as M. F. Royal), was living in Barstow, Ward County. See Certificates of Death, Texas Department of Health and newspaper obituaries for Ethel and Mary Royal.

Children: Emmaline Virginia (1854), Andrew Jackson (25 Nov 1855), Elizabeth Josephine (20 Mar 1857), Lena Cora (June 1861), Ella Lee (28 Nov 1865), Ellanor (c1869), Viola Adaline (17 Aug 1870), Vera (c1871).

Of particular note is Andrew Jackson Royal who served as Sheriff of Pecos County, Texas from 1892. He was a controversial figure, thought by some to be a tough lawman and by others to use his position in terrorizing citizens. He was murdered in his office, in the county courthouse, on 21 Nov 1894.
