Date: Tue, 2 Feb 2010 17:32:28 -0600. Donna states: "My husband's ancester was Henry Harrison Heater who was a brother o[f] Margaret Heater Hilterbrand McGill. I have been researching this Margaret Heater because 5 of Henry Harrison's children were raised by Margaret and her son William and are in the 1870 census living with them. My question is one that you have questioned also. She had two children, William and Mary Adeline listed with last name of Hilderbrand but her first husband was David Hiltibran (spelled this way on marriage certificate) on the date you have listed. The issue comes that he was murdered on Oct. 10, 1844. This makes it impossible for him to have fathered these two children, one born in 1848 and the other in 1851. She married James McGill in 1861 but if one look at the 1850 census James McGill has another family with these names:

Later some of these names appear in the will and dower documents so I am sure this is the same James McGill. I have been searching and searchin[g] and I can not figure out the two children. In documents Mary Adeline some times uses the Hilderbrand name and some times the McGill name. She was married twice, first to Absolem Butler and second to William Propeck. I have found marriage documents to confirm this... ."
