And there was a Trimpe farm at Bieste/Neuenkirchen whose name in 1867 w as changed to Schwietering. The Schwieterings were a renowned Vogt (bailif f) family at Neuenkirchen through the ages. Deitrich Trimpey, a diminutive German of Middle Creek Twp., whose striki ng personality was familiar to people having business before the cour ts of this [Somerset, PA] county during the past several decades, di ed on the 17th inst. He lived all alone and it is not known at what ho ur the dread summons came to him. He was found by some of his neighbors s itting in a rocking chair, still in death. He was probably 73 years of ag e."

   Text: There is a discrepancy between the date of birth given on The Deitrich Trimpey Family Tree (scroll) completed in Mar. 28, 1942 by John P Trimpey and Edna Trimpey Trenton, which lists date of birth 12/ 9/1813. They did not document source of birthdate, and since ALL of the birth and baptism records were obtained from Neuenkirchen and Bieste area and there is no other Dietrich Trimpe listed, it was d ecided by David Trimpey and Linda Marker to accept this date from the City Archives in Neuenkirchen as official. Additionally, we had always suspected a family relationship between Dietrich, Frederic k, and Bernard, as they were next door neighbors upon their arrival in Somerset Co., PA
