"Luther P. Smith
Richford--Luther P. Smith, 72, died early Monday afternoon in a St. Albans hospital.
He was born in Knowlton, Que., Aug. 8, 1894, the son of Luther R. and Emma (Parsonage) Smith.
Following his graduation from Knowlton Academy he came to the United States and for many years was employed by the Sweat-Comings Company, first as a manager of the Orleans plant and later as superintendent of lumber operations at the plant in Richford.
He was a member of Valley Lodge F&AM of Orleans.
He leaves his wife, Helen; three daughters from a former marriage, Mrs. Marjorie Caprolozzi of Manchester, Conn., Mrs. Elizabeth Demke of West Hartford, Conn., and Mrs. Ann Brown of Caledonia, N.Y.; two sisters, Mrs. Hazel Harvey and Mrs. Ada Clark, both of Richford; a brother, Edward R. Smith of Richford; 10 grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
Friends are invited to call Wednesday evening 7-9 at the Amee Funeral Home, 19 School St., Richford, where a funeral service will be held Thursday afternoon at 2. It is suggested that memorials in Mr. Smith's name be made to the Arvin A. Brown Public Library, in care of Mrs. Edson Clark, librarian. Funeral arrangements are made by the Amee Funeral Home of Richford."
