Death of Howard King (hand written July 29th)
General Howard King, aged 27 years, 9 months and 27 days, died at the home of his parents Mr. and Mrs. Jim King, in Arlington Thursday (I think) night about 11 o'clock. He had been in bad health for quite a white yet his death came as a surprise to a number of his friends.
Mr. King proffessed faith in Christ six years ago and united with the Arlington Baptist Church. He leaves a wife, two children, father, mother, one brother and two sisters besides a number of other relatives and friends to mourn his early going.
Funeral services were conducted at the grave at 4 o'clock Friday afternoon by Rev. C.D. Forester, after which his remains were interred in the Arlington Cemetery. The bereaved family have the sympathy of their many friends in this sad hour.
He was living with his parents when he died. Lili was living with her parents and working to support herself and her children. He was ill with diabetes for several years and unable to work. (told to me by Aunt Frankie King in July 2001)
