Note: Van Nest p.6: "In Ovid they resided on lot 18, not far from her mother."
Obit for Maria Brokaw states "Mr. Brokaw came here with his wife and children from NJ about 52 years ago, settling upon the farm now owned and occupied by William Kinne on the town line between Ovid and Romulus, 3/4 mile east of village of Ovid where they remained 5 years. Then moved to Riga, NY where they remained 7 years, and returned again to this village where he died, and where she has since resided."
There seems to be confusion between I and J as the middle initial. His obituary said I, but his wife's referred to him as J, but since his grave says I, I stuck with that.
