"Grandma Barrett [Emily "Emma"] died with kidney infection in the winter of 1928. I remember it well, because they lived just one block from us, at 15th and Walnut Streets, and it had been snowing. When Dad [Kenneth Barrett (1896)] got the call to hurry down there he only had one rubber boot to wear because we kids had been playing with them and he could only find one." _________________________ Eugene Guard, Wednesday, Aug. 15, 1928, p 12:
