Tuel, 89, of Beaver Dam, died on Wednesday, July 1, 2009 at the Golden Living Center in Beaver Dam.Visitation for Elinor will be at St. Mark's Episcopal Church in Beaver Dam o n Monday, July 6, from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Funeral services will follow at church on Monday, beginning at 1 p.m. Rev. Mary J. Mail will officiate. Burial will be at Oakwood Cemetery in the town of Beav er Dam, Dodge County, Wis.The former Elinor A. Sokolowski was born on Feb. 20, 1920, in Thorp, Wis. to the late Stanley and Mayme (Heiting) Sokolowski. She graduated from Beaver Dam High School in 193 7 and from the Madison Academy of Beauty Culture in 1938. On Aug. 12, 1945 (or 1946), Elinor was united in marriage with Benton Tuel in Dubuque, Iowa. She owned and operated Tuel Beauty Shop in Beave r Dam from 1959 to 1985. Elinor was an active member of St. Mark's Episcopal Church in Beaver Dam. She enjoyed all types of sewing, from quilt-making to dress-making to stitching; had a great love o f flowers and appreciated the beauty of nature. Elinor took great pride in each of her children and grandchildren and who they became.Survivors include her six sons, William (Linda) Sonneman, Milwauke e, Michael (Beverly) Tuel, Idaho, Thomas (Jan) Tuel, Iowa, Gray (John) Taylor/Tuel, New Jersey, Mark (Rita) Tuel, Beaver Dam, and Jon (Joan) Tuel, Maine; her five daughters, Sue (Bill) Bartos, Kentuck y, Debbi (Doug) Hoffman, Holcombe, Linda (Bob) Zamzow, Beaver Dam, Beth (Todd) Ehlenfeldt, Randolph, and Diane (Mike) Sullivan, Madison; 17 grandchildren, 19 great grandchildren, 11 great-great-grandc hildren; nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.Elinor was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; one grandson; her brother, Clarence Sokolowski, and her sister, Cecelia Waller.The famil y suggests that memorials be made in Elinor A. Tuel's name to St. Mark's Episcopal Church, 700 E. Mill St., P.O. Box 126, Beaver Dam, WI 53916.A special thanks to the wonderful family of care-givers a t the Golden Living Center. Text: SOLOLOSKI-SONNEMANNThe marriage of Miss Elinor A. Sokoloski, Beaver Dam, formerly of Madison, and Theodore W. Sonnemann, son of: Mr. and Mrs. T. E. Sonnemann, Beaver Dam, took place June 1 in Beaver D am. The Rev. L. C. Kirst officiated.The bride, who was given in marriage by her father, Charles F. Wegener, wore a "Gone With the Wind" gown of white marquisette and a long veil. She carried a colonia l bouquet of white gardenias, lilies-of-the-valley, and gypsophila. Mrs. Harry Radlund, Juneau, was the matron of honor, and the bridesmaids were Mrs. Martin Kaddatz, Watertown, and Miss Dorothy Schul tz, Columbus. Mr. Radlund was the best man, and Martin Kaddatz and Richard Werner were the ushers. Mr. and Mrs. Sonnemann will make their home in Beaver Dam.
