"John Peter Lutz -- The death of John Peter Lutz occurred at his home a bout 3 miles north of Buckland, Monday, at age 96 years, 2 months, and 8 d ays, after a protracted illness. He came to this country from Germany i n 1844, first locating at Crestline, Ohio. He remained there 20 years a fter which he took up his residence on a farm in the northeastern part o f Logan Twp., this county, where he has resided since. He leaves three c hildren; Mrs John Freyer of Michigan, Mrs John Zuber of Allen County an d Peter Lutz of this county. The funeral will take place today from An tioch Church, Reverand Pease officiating. Interrment will be in Ft Aman da Cemetery."
"Death Took Away a Pioneer Resident of Logan Township Monday - Funeral T hursday Morning. John Peter Lutze, aged 94 years, 2 months and 8 days, d ied at his home in Logan township Monday, after an extended illness. C ause of death was the infirmities of old age. In the year 1844 Mr. Lut z landed in America. At that time he settled near Crestline, Richland c ounty, Ohio. In 1864 he moved to Logan township where he resided up un til the time of his death. Two daughters, Mrs. John Fryer, of Michigan , and Mrs. John Zuber, of Allen county, and one son, Peter Lutze surviv e. Funeral Thursday morning at 10 o'clock at the Antioch church with R ev. Peases officiating. Burial in the Ft. Amanda cemetery."
