Research of the Beery, Cammer, Clark, Connor, England, Fokes, Lee, McLennan, Minor, Oelslager (Oelschlager), Proctor, and Wilkerson families and families related to them.   • Note: When he was born, he weighed less than a pound. An old nego woman cared for him. She wrapped him up in a cloth and kept him in the oven of a wood stove with the door opened; this served as an incubator. Though born the weakest, he was the strongest and outlived all of his siblings. He was a Baptist. He had a 2nd grade education and worked all his life as a farmer. According to family narrative, he and his younger brothers practically lived in the woods. They would eat wild berries and nuts - living off the land.
