      Mrs. Ellen Henning, (nee Botkin), departed this life, Thursday, April 18, 1918, at her home south of St. Marys, Ohio. She was born September 12, 1837, as one of eleven children of Mr. and Mrs. William Botkin. She was united in wedlock, March 20, 1856, to William Henning, of Richmond, Indiana. To this union, twelve children were born. The husband and father departed this life, July 15, 1881. The deceased lived her entire life in this immediate community, and since her widowhood lovingly administered to the welfare of her children. She joined the United Brethren church, forty-five years ago and has been a true, conscientious Christian lady, administering toward His kingdom with abiding faith and love. She was of rugged health until the infirmities of age overtook her and passed away as quietly and with the spirit that characterized her entire life. She attained the age of eighty years, seven months and six days. She leaves to mourn her departure, seven children, twenty grandchildren and thirteen great-grandchildren, and numerous other relatives and friends. May she rest in peace.
