Transcription obtained from Paul Hoefer at HoeferPaul@aol.com (with transl
ation by Teri Popp) based on his research in the Familienregister from Gro
    ▀deinbach (see 1-175, 2b-412, 3-xxx):

Hans Jacob Nagel, a native of Gro▀deinbach, born July 22, 1652, died Mar
    ch 21, 1723
    Father: Hans Nagel

He didn't go to school, but instead served his father for four year
    s. At his father' death, he received good reports from his father. In St
rassdorf, he learned to be a weaver, but didn't pursue marriage. La
te in his life (at the age of 32), he married an older woman (the wid
ow of Joh. Fritz) (this must be a colloquilism that I am not familiar with
--"Weib 6 F1. ins Weisenhaus legiert"--which literally translates to me
an "old hag...[there's that word again ] in the orphanage served"--t
his might mean that he married the widow of the guy who ran the orphanage-
-if the translation is literal--otherwise, I'm not familiar with its conot
    ation).

    Married April 22, 1684 in Gro▀deinbach

Magdalina Bulling, a native of Gro▀deinbach, born May 18, 1668; died Dec 3
    1, 1716

She went to school, and always stood by her parents (stayed near her paren
ts). (Note: she was only 16 years old when she married her 32 year old h
usband.) According to the death register, she died on Dec. 31, 1716 (not
    e: predeceasing her older husband).

Children of Hans Jacob and Magdalina [Bulling] Nagel are:

    1. Johannes, born Jan 24, 1685; married in Gro▀deinbach
    2. Jacob, born June 26, 1686; died July 12, 1686 in Gro▀deinbach
    3. Anna Magdalina, born Aug. 30, 1687, married Joh. Steegmajer in Gro▀dei
    nbach
    4. Mathaeus, born Feb. 18, 1690, married Christina Cath. Elchen in Gro▀de
    inbach
    5. Michael, born Oct. 10, 1692, appears to have died on Nov. 11
    6. Hans Jacob, born March 13, 1694, married Cristina Nachtrieben
    7. a child who only lived 1/4 year--no name listed, born July 9, 1695
    8. Christina, born Dec. 17, 1696, married
    9. Stillborn child, born Jan. 4, 1702
    10. Hans Michael, born Sep. 29, 1703, it was heard that he married wh
en he went to Almersbach (the transcriber doesn't know exactly where Almer
sbach is located--it could be Allmersback im Tal or, possibly, Allmersba
ch am Weinberg (in Aspach)). He married Catharina Wincklens, the legal da
ughter of Hans Wincklens on Feb. 9, 1727. He apparently purchased 1
/2 of a farm ownership for 1000 F1 (must be some reference to a type of cu
    rrency used at that time).

Hans Jacob Nagel married second in Deinbach (this town designation cover
ed all three areas of Deinbach--Gross (meaning large), Klein (meaning smal
    l) and Hangendeinbach) on July 27, 1717
Even though Magdalina Baur (Hans Jacob's intended bride) was 66 years of a
ge and he was 65 years old, he had to travel to Stuttgart to seek permissi
on from her family to marry her.
