If you find your family in this file, I will be very grateful to hear about mistakes, and to have your help in filling in gaps. It is extremely unlikely that I have any information addditional to what is posted in this file. The version posted on 1 November 2013 contains some updates: please check again if you have previously taken information from this site.

    (1) Anyone born after 1930 and without a date of death entered in these records is regarded as living. In consideration of their privacy, only minimal information is published about people thus categorised.
    (2) This information is drawn from many sources, and while I have made every attempt to check its accuracy, there will of course be some errors. Even if sources are quoted, you should not rely on the accuracy of any of this information unless you verify it independently. If you find errors please let me know by e-mail to tedmarr@hk.net so that I can make the necessary corrections. Locations of BDM events in NSW, Australia, are in many instances the location of the local Registry, which may not be the true location of the event (though it will normally be nearby). Locations of BDM events in Victoria, Australia, are also in many instances the location of the Registry, and may be very distant indeed from the true location of the event. The last update to the information in this file was 23 December 2007.
    (3) A note for any descendants of Mary Anne Gray (b.13 March 1814 and married to Thomas Wilson): it appears that a very deadly disposition to ovarian cancer is genetically transmitted to a number of her female descendants, especially among the descendants of William Turner and Maggie Wilson. From what we know, this disposition to cancer is passed with the X chromosome, which means, among other things, that it can be received by a daughter from her mother and passed to her sons and daughters, and also received by son from his mother but then can be passed by that son to his daughters only, and not to his sons (i.e. two successive generations of sons from a female carrier operate as a barrier to further transmission). If you are descended from Mary Anne Gray or her ancestors or siblings, and especially if you are descended from William Turner and Maggie Wilson, and you know of or suspect the incidence of this condition in your family, please contact me by e-mail.
    (4) A polite message to any Mormons who come across this file: most of the dead people listed were devout Christians, including many pious Presbyterian Ministers. To my mind your practice of conducting "baptisms", "marriages" and other rituals for dead people is grossly disrespectful to them and to their memory. I understand that international and national Jewish organizations have extracted undertakings from you that you will not perform these rites for their dead relatives, and I now ask that you extend the same respect to mine: they would not have had anything to do with your religion in life, and should not in death be the subject of your rituals.

Having been very busy professionally, I have not updated this family tree for about a year. I now have a little more time, and have started by correcting some long-standing errors. More corrections and updates will follow soon.
