  • Note:
    Many people have Thomas married to both Audrey Hare and Helena Winsofer and d. 17 Jan 1599/1600. Burke's Peerage has Thomas d. 28 March 1560--too soon to have had Edmund born 1 Jan 1572/3. Therefore I presume that there were two Thomas Hobart's. The elder Thomas married Audrey Hare & died 1560 as documented in Burke's Peerage. The younger, his son, married Helena Winsofer and had Edmund before he d. 1600. The younger Thomas along with the rest of the descendants are not documented in Burke's Peerage because it follows another son of the elder Thomas, Henry who became a baronet.

    The younger Thomas's son Edmund, who immigrated to New England in 1632, is generally referred to in Burke's Peerage as "yet other descendants who emigrated to Massachussetts 1633". See note under ggf Thomas Hobart, d. 8 April 1517.
