MILITARY: US Navy, 1925-1929 on board USS Arizona; re-enlisted Aug 1941 and served in the Panama Canal Zone area during World War II. Discharged in 1944 of medical injuries. He fell on board and injured his knees and broke his back. He was told he would never walk again, but instead became a dancer the rest of his life. - ref.
