OBITUARY: Frances J. Stidham, age 91, of Richmond, died Monday, June 1, 2009, following a short illness at Friends Fellowship Community. Born Feb. 16, 1918, in Richmond to Frank P. and Nuncy (Mercurio) Loschiavo, she spent most of her life in Richmond. Frances was a 1936 graduate of Morton High School. She was an active member of First Friends Meeting, former member of the Richmond Symphony Orchestra Board, member and past president two times of the Women's Club, member of the Garden Club, and member of Forest Hills Country Club, where she was active with The Nine Holers. Survivors include her husband of 71 years, F. Wayne Stidham; children, John E. Stidham of San Francisco, Calif., David W. Stidham and his wife Carla of Richmond, and Susan J. Ferrell and her husband Bob of Richmond; five grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; and sister, Dorothy Hoch Fernandes of Los Angeles, Calif. She was preceded in death by her brother, Anthony Loschiavo; and sisters, Marie Hall and Josephine Miller. Memorial service for Frances J. Stidham will be at 10 a.m. Thursday, June 4, 2009, at First Friends Church, 2010 Chester Boulevard, Richmond, with Doug Gwyn officiating. Entombment will be in Earlham Memorial Mausoleum.
