    According tro the 1880 census, George's father was born in Holland, and his mother in Ireland.

    George may have been the son of Daniel [306] Stidham of Delaware. According to the 1820 Pencader Hundred, New Castle Co., Delaware census, Daniel had two son (names unknown) born between 1810 and 1820. We believe these two sons went west. The other son may have been Thomas Stidham (b. c1817 in Delaware) who went to Illinois, the Pacific Northwest, then California..
