No proof Thomas [445g] Steadham is a son of John [294a] Steadham. He has been placed as John's son because of the following circumstantial evidence tying Thomas with the other probable sons of John: 1. Thomas [445g] was found in Barbour Co., Alabama in 1850 and 1860. Barbour Co., Alabama is two counties from Calhoun Co., Georgia where Samuel [445as] was living in 1870, and where William J. [445e] Steadham was living in 1860 and 1870. 2. Thomas was buried in Terrell Co., Georgia, an adjacent county to Calhoun County where William J. died and was buried. 3. Thomas bought four city lots in Whitney (later called Dickey), Calhoun Co., Georgia in 1866. Samuel [445as] was living in Calhoun County in 1870, and William J. [445e] Steadham was living there in 1860 and 1870. William J. was buried in Dickey, Georgie. 4. All of the probable sons of John used the "Steadham" surname spelling.
