OBITUARY: Steven Howard Stidham, 57, of Wolfe City, Texas, died April 27, 2009, at his home. A funeral service is scheduled at 2 p.m. Thursday at the First United Methodist Church in Wolfe City with Jon Woodruff and Dr. Ed Lee officiating. Burial will folloiw in Mount Carmel Cemetery under the direction of R.W. Owens & Son Funeral Home in Wolfe City. The son of Hubert [4313] and Loree Howard Stidham, he was born Dec. 25, 1951, in Wolfe City. On April 10, 1987, he married Jerri Lee Young in Greenville, Texas. He was a graduate of The University of Texas at Austin. He was the founder of the Wolfe City Car Club and was a life sponsor of Ducks Unlimited. Steve was a nationally known professional dog trainer, avid hunter and author of outdoor articles. He was a member of First United Methodist Church in Wolfe City. Surviving are his wife of Wolfe City; one daughter, Amy Monette of Austin; two sons, Jeremy McWilliams of Greenville and Jerry Don Kuhn of Plano, Texas; sister and brother-in-law Sharon and Wayne Smith of Dallas; a granddaughter, Carly McWilliams of Farmersville, Texas; his mother-in-law, Gayle Howell of Greenville; and close family friends Linda and Michael Monette. His parents preceded him in death. Phil Tanner, John Paul Roundtree, Steve Sanders, Allen Haywood, David Nunn, Dan Turrentine, Eddie Noga, Don Monroe, Clay Henslee and Ron Wensel will serve as pallbearers.
