    OBITUARY: Virginia Hazelwood, 82, of Appalachia, passed away Saturday (Nov. 19, 2005) at Lonesome Pine Hospital in Big Stone Gap. She was born in Keokee and lived most of her life Exeter and Appalachia. She was of Baptist faith. She was preceded in death by her husband, Richard Forrest Hazelwood; a daughter, Lois Hensley; and her parents, Jim and Flora Jane (Sampson) Stidham. Survivors include two daughters, Sandy Ramey, of the home, and Mary Ann Walthall of Appalachia; four sons, Joseph Hazelwood and Richard Bryan Hazelwood, both of Appalachia, Michael Forrest Hazelwood of Kingsport, Tenn. and Parnell Stidham of Big Stone Gap; 14 grandchildren and several great-grandchildren; one brother, J. C. Stidham of Keokee; one sister, Lillian Calhoun of Big Stone Gap; two special nephews, Jimmy and Kenneth Stidham; and several other nieces and nephews. Calling hours were held Monday, Nov. 21, at Holding Funeral Home in Big Stone Gap. Funeral services followed at 8 p.m. in the funeral home chapel with Greg Townsend, Minister and Pastor Garrett Lee officiating. Committal services were held at 11 a.m. Tuesday, Nov. 22 at Powell Valley Memorial Gardens. Grandsons and nephews served as pallbearers. (from FindaGrave.com)
