OBIT: Margaret M. Magilton - Albany Times Union - (May/11/2009)
Magilton, Margaret M. ALBANY Margaret Mahar Magilton, 80, passed away peacefully surrounded by her loving family on Saturday, May 9, 2009. Wife of the late James R. Magilton; daughter of the late Jeramiah F. and Mable B. Brown Mahar; and dearest friend of John D. Magrum. Survived by her loving sister, Geraldine Wellworth; favorite niece, Donna Wellworth and her children, Cassie, Andrew and Nicky. Margie as she was fondly called attended St. Patrick's Grade School and Watervliet High School. She also graduated from IBM Computer School in Albany. Margie worked as a telephone operator and later for NYS as a keypunch operator. She also worked at St. Peter's Hospital as a ward clerk and for Albany Parks & Recreation. Margie had three wonderful children, Joan Brenenstuhl, Bonnie Proctor and James (Kimberly) Magilton and they blessed her life with six grandchildren and one great-grandchild, Kristopher (Sarah), Charles (Amanda), Cynthia, Michael, Seamus, Noah and great-granddaughter, Pearl. Margie belonged to St. Ambrose Charismatic Prayer Group. Her desire was to walk in the shoes of Jesus and to do good wherever she could. We as her children feel she succeeded as a wonderful mother and now is walking with Jesus. Marge's interests included entertaining with her dear friend, John Magrum and watching her list of favorite TV shows. She was also very lucky on her occasional trips to the casino. But her main interest was her family as she was blessed with the ability to share with everyone her wonderful insight and life experience. She was an extremely giving and caring individual who brought joy to everyone who knew her. She will be missed more than words can say, and will remain in our hearts always. Relatives and friends are invited to attend a memorial Mass on Wednesday at 10 a.m. at St. Patrick's Church, Watervliet. There are no calling hours. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the Mohawk & Hudson Humane Society, 3 Oakland Ave., Menands, NY 12204. Condolence book at www.ParkerBrosMemorial.com.
