Note: Note: - 22. Patriot Families. A genealogy of the direct descendants of Jacob Coy and Killian Minkler, by A. A. Rousseau, published by Keepsake Publications, Seattle, Washington County, 1994.
Boceay COY(22) was born in Somerset Co, Md. Parents: John COY Sr. and Anna. At least John Sr. and John Jr., Christopher and David William moved onto the James River area of VA (1779), Buckingham Co, Va (1779), Garrard Co, KY (1787) and about 1826 to Switzerland Cop, Indiana. John Coy (presumably John Sr) was granted 400 acres of land in Jefferson County, VA as a Revolutionary War land bounty.
1788, 28 May - Nelson County Marriage records: Rebecca Coy was married to Mark MARSHALL.
Note: Garrard County wasn't formed until 1797 from Lincoln County. John, Sr. land grant of 400 acres in Jefferson from which Nelson was formed in 1785 puts Rebecca (Boceay) in the same county (Nelson) as Mark at the time of their marriage in 1788. See 1847, 9 Mar. - Hardin Deed Book W page 342 that references John Coy's grant (land lies on the waters of the Rolling Fork and Youngers Creek and bounded as follows towit: beginning at three black locusts on the south bank of the Rolling Fork upper corner to John Coys 400 acres tract that lies between Youngers Creek and the Rolling Fork) in will of Mark Marshall heirs.
1810 - Hardin census Mark is head of household but female of Rebecca's age not listed so she must have died before 1810...maybe in childbirth with Hannah born abt. 1808.
