    Spidle, Margaret, died July 17, 1918, aged 82 years, 9 months and 22 days. She was the daughter of Jacob and Sarah Shively Marker. April 4, 1858, she married John Spidle. To this union were born seven children, two of whom, with the father, preceded her. Sister Spidle united with the church fifty-five years ago and was a faithful member. Services at Gettysburg by Brethren Jesse Stutsman and A. H. Weimer. - Anna Witwer, Greenville, Ohio.

    Wednesday, July 24, 1918
    DEATH OF PIONEER WOMAN
    Mrs. Margaret Spidle, one of the pioneer women of Darke county, died at her home in this city, death being caused by dropsy and heart trouble.
    The deceased was 83 years old at the time of her death. She was born at Painter Creek, this county, in 1835. Four children, three sons and one daughter, survive. They are: Daniel, John Jr., and Jacob Spidel and Miss Sarah Spidel.
    Funeral services were held at the Gettyburg Presbyterian church at 2 o'clock Sunday afternoon, Revs. Weiman and Stutsman officiating. Interment was made in the Gettysburg cemetery.
