Rebecca Nancy Jane McTeer Shipman was born near Sparta, Mo., Jan. 23, 1878, and passed away at her home there June 30, 1945. She spent her entire lifetime in the Sparta community. She was united in marriage to Theodore Shipman in 1897 and to this union five children were born, two of them preceded her in death. She was a member of the Baptist church, having been converted at an early age. Surviving are her husband; two daughters, Mrs. Sylvia Dishman of Boise, Idaho, and Mrs. Luree Garrison of Oakland, Calif.; one son, Ashel of Monett, Mo.; eight grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; and one brother, Andy McTeer of Ogden, Utah. Funeral services held Monday afternoon in the Sparta Baptist church were conducted by Rev. Wilson of Sparta. Burial was in the Shipman cemetery under direction of the Chaffin Funeral Home of Ozark.
